BLACKBURNS DUN HONEY Blackburns Dun Honey aka Honey is a 1997 AQHA Grulla mare that is HOMOZYGOUS BLACK. Being HOMOZYGOUS BLACK means that she cannot produce a red foal. She can only produce, grulla, black, dun, bay, and brown no matter what color the stallion is. Honey is a well put together mare that has a good thick mane and tail. She has a big kind eye, and a wonderful shape and size. She stands about 14.2 and has a good head and neck and pretty hip with good withers. Honey does not have any white hair on her and she has some really good solid black feet that never need trimming. I have not checked to see what Honey's foundation percent is, but I am sure that it is in the 90's. She has a lot of traces back to the good ole foundation stallions. She has 3 traces to King, 3 traces to Blackburn, 2 traces to Pretty Buck, 2 traces to Bert, and 2 traces to Poco Bueno. She also goes back to Hollywood Gold, and Eternal Sun. In the past Honey has had 4 duns by another stallion, and 2 grulla colts by WR Dual Twist. Honey is the momma to the 2010 gorgeous grulla colt, Chilli Dual. Honey is also a new momma again to another beautiful and healthy grulla stud colt, aka Chino, that was born on 3/9/2011 by WR Dual Twist. She is currently being exposed back to him for 2012. ~~VERY SAD NEWS FLASH! WE LOST HONEY ALL OF A SUDDEN DUE TO COLIC. SHE HAD A BEAUTIFUL GRULLA COLT (now orphaned) AT HER SIDE, CHINO. HE IS DOING VERY WELL THOUGH. WE HAVE HIM ON MILK REPLACER EVERY 6 HOURS, AND HE IS ALSO EATING ALFALFA HAY, AND OMALEEN 300. BY LOOKING AT HIM YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW HE WAS AN ORPHAN. HE HAS TAKEN TO HIS LOSS OF HIS MOTHER VERY WELL. HONEY IS TRULY MISSED AND WE ARE VERY SAD TO HAVE LOST HER AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE, BUT AT LEAST SHE HAS LEFT US WITH SOME OF HER LEGACY.~~ This pic was taken 1/23/2010:
