TWO EYED ROCKINROBIN

Two Eyed Rockinrobin is a 2006 AQHA Grulla mare.  Robin tested positive for the cream gene and will pass this gene to 50% of her offspring.  She is out of a grulla and a dun and is 86% foundation.  Robin has all black hooves and only a faint star.   Her star doesn't even have pink skin under it.  It is just white hairs.  She is burning up with dun factor!!  Her maternal grandsire has his ROM and 23 AQHA points.  This is a big stout mare that already stands 15hh+.  Right now she weighs about 1200 pounds and has plenty of bone!  Robin is a big stout mare.  She is a light silver grulla.  In May of 2008 she broke her right femur bone.  The vet told me to put her down because she would probably never be able to walk on all four legs again.  I had faith in her for some reason and I went against the vets wishes and kept her around.  For some reason I didn't feel like she was in bad pain.  I know that she hurt, but she was handling it very well.  Good thing keep her around like I did because she has made an amazing recovery!  If it wasn't for the big huge scar, you would never know it!  Robin did not founder as the vet expected nor did she have any over compensation issues.  She is really sound at a walk and a trot, but there is a little bit of bobbin when she lopes.  The vet had also recommended that I leave her in a stall for the rest of her life and I did till about November and then I noticed her being very board in the stall, so I turned her out one day to see how she would do.  Amazingly again she did really good out in the pasture and is getting around so good.  You would never know that she has had a broke leg at one point in her life!  :)  She doesn't have any extra wear in her hooves or anything bad at all.  One thing that I did do was have her feet trimmed about every 8 weeks just so that she didn't have any extra stress while she was in the healing process and I thought that she would be hard to trim, but she had no trouble what so ever standing on that bad leg to get trimmed.  It is definantly not an injury that is as bad as it sounds.  (although I don't think that now she will ever make a performance horses like she is).  I had her in the pasture running with Dual to get bred at the time of her injury.  I figured that she lost the baby if she was bred through out her broke femur, but miraculously she got bred (and didn't loose it!)!!  Robin had a beautiful palomino stud colt by WR Dual Twist on 3/26/09 but he is sold now and she has been vet checked in foal back to him for 2010.  2-N-1 package deal.  SOLD! THANKS JOHN IN FORT WORTH!
